Ashley Driscoll’s career in the hospitality industry spans over two decades, with a significant portion of her tenure rooted in a beloved local restaurant in Lubbock, Texas. For 15 years, Ashley honed her skills, building a reputation for compassionate management and unwavering dedication to hospitality. In the past two years, she has brought that same level of energy and commitment to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where she has become an integral part of our management team.
Ashley’s career at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has been profoundly influenced by two key figures who have helped shape her path. Ben Herrera, General Manager in El Paso, Texas, and Michael Mack, General Manager in Lubbock, Texas, both stand out as pivotal mentors for Ashley. Ben’s positivity and team-building skills, alongside Michael’s extensive industry knowledge and support gave Ashley invaluable insights and guidance. Transitioning from a local restaurant to a corporate setting was initially daunting for her. Still, with the support of the other Alamo Drafthouse managers, Ashley has thrived, learning and growing within the Alamo family.
The Art of Balancing Work, Play, and Motherhood
Outside her role at Alamo, Ashley leads a vibrant and fulfilling life. As a mother of three “very rambunctious” boys, most of her days are spent driving to practices and attending all of her sons’ games. Amongst it all, she makes time to prioritize her interests, too. Not your normal mom, but a cool mom (Mean Girls, anyone?), she rocks out on the guitar for a local band in the evenings and on weekends. Ashley somehow makes balancing a thriving hospitality career, parenthood, and personal artistic pursuits look effortless. The more we learn about her, the more we are impressed by her!
An even more endearing aspect about Ashley is that she’s not just a great mother; she’s also an amazing daughter. If you ask her to pick one person to work a long shift with today, she’d say her mom. “She’s my favorite person in this life, and if I can do anything with my mom, that’s what I’m picking.

She’s a huge fan of comedic classics like The Princess Bride and Monty Python, but when asked what character she relates to most, Dory from “Finding Nemo,” was her answer. Ashley loves Dory’s positive and resilient attitude. Dory’s famous line resonates as a motto for Ashley, “Just keep swimming. Life throws crazy things at you, and that’s sometimes all you can do.” This optimism shines through in her work, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
Alongside her favorite movies and characters, Ashley’s top three recommendations for Alamo’s menu are the Big Pretzel, Ribeye Tacos (a regional specialty in Lubbock), and the Carnivore Pizza.
